CVS Caremark adds Zepbound back to its commercial formularies
Sources last checked October 1, 2026
CVS Caremark announced on May 28, 2026 that it would add Zepbound (tirzepatide) back to its commercial formularies as an additional preferred option on October 1, 2026.
The change applies to CVS Caremark template formularies. Plan sponsors that adopt those formularies can customize coverage for their members, so whether your employer plan covers Zepbound still depends on your plan.
CVS Caremark described the move as increasing access to GLP-1s at a more affordable price for plan sponsors that choose to offer coverage. It did not publish pricing figures.
The same announcement said CVS Caremark would remove the new-to-market block on Foundayo (orforglipron) effective June 1, 2026.
