Coverage varies. Humana says Medicare Part D does not cover weight loss medications when used only for weight loss. Zepbound (KwikPen) is one of the drugs covered under the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge (July 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027) at a $50 copayment per 30-day supply, for people enrolled in a standalone Part D plan or a Medicare Advantage plan with drug coverage. Humana says the doctor must submit a prior authorization request and the prescription to a CMS central processor, and the patient needs an obesity diagnosis and a documented medical need. Humana's page does not address Zepbound for sleep apnea.
Applies to: Medicare Part D (PDP and MAPD). Weight loss alone excluded by statute; temporary Medicare GLP-1 Bridge for obesity
